En el marco de Spanish Screenings Content, ayer se celebró Animation Hub, una muestra de la diversidad de la animación española que está por venir. Los asistentes pudieron conocer de primera mano ‘El diario de Alicia’, de Diogo Viegas; ‘Mariposas negras’, de David Baute; ‘Norberto’, de Jose Corral Llorente; ‘Ikusezinak’, de Imanol Zinkunegi; y ‘El violinista’, de Raúl García, y debatir sobre los filmes con sus representantes.
Camilo Vázquez, del ICAA, dio la bienvenida a los participantes, destacando la creciente repercusión internacional de la animación española con el hito de la nominación al Oscar de ‘Robot Dreams’, de Pablo Berger. También da muestra de la relevancia de la sección que dos títulos de 2023 ya se hayan estrenado: ‘DragonKeeper: Guardiana de dragones’ de Salvador Simó y Li Jianping, película inaugural del certamen, y ‘El sueño de la sultana’, de Isabel Herguera, que compitió en San Sebastián.
Málaga será también el escenario de la lectura de los finalistas y la presentación el viernes 8 de marzo de los Premios Quirino 2024, que se celebrarán en Tenerife.

A taste of the animation to come
Within the framework of Spanish Screenings Content, the event Animation Hub was held yesterday, a taste of the diversity of Spanish animation that is to come. Attendees were able to see ‘Alice’s Diary’, by Diogo Viegas; ‘Black Butterflies’, by David Baute; ‘Norbert’, by Jose Corral Llorente; ‘The Invisibles’, by Imanol Zinkunegi; and ‘The violinist’, by Raul García first hand, and discuss the films with their representatives.
Camilo Vázquez, in the name of the ICAA, welcomed all the participants, highlighting the growing international impact of Spanish animation with the milestone of Pablo Berger’s Robot Dreams’ Oscar nomination. It also shows the relevance of the section that two titles from 2023 have already been released: ‘Dragonkeeper’, by Salvador Simó and Li Jianping, the opening film of this year’s Festival; and ‘Sultana’s Dream’, by Isabel Herguera, who competed in San Sebastián.
Malaga will also be the setting for the presentation and the reading of the finalists of the Quirino 2024 Awards which will be held in Tenerife in May 8
