El Balneario alberga la presentación de la actividad central de MAFIZ

Ayer tuvo lugar en El Balneario del Carmen la inauguración de Spanish Screenings Content, actividad central de MAFIZ. El acto, que da el pistoletazo de salida a una nutrida programación de proyecciones, presentaciones, conferencias diversas y oportunidades de conectar con otros profesionales, fue presidido por el alcalde de Málaga, Francisco de la Torre, a quien acompañaron Mariana Pineda, concejala de Cultura y Patrimonio Histórico; Camilo Vázquez, subdirector general de Promoción y Relaciones Internacionales del ICAA; Elisa Carbonell, la consejera delegada de ICEX España Exportaciones e Inversiones; y Juan Antonio Vigar, director del certamen malagueño.
Tras la breve introducción de Juan Antonio Vigar, el alcalde dio la bienvenida a las delegaciones de los 61 países que participarán en el evento y recalcó “la importancia de MAFIZ en el Festival para el cine en español”. Acto seguido Vázquez incidió en “el buen momento del cine y la profesionalidad y excelencia del sector”, definiendo a MAFIZ como “el músculo del Festival y un espacio de sinergias”. Finalmente, Carbonell cerró el acto destacando “la calidad del audiovisual nacional”, su apoyo a la internacionalización y su labor en el impulso al nuevo talento.
Alrededor de 300 invitados disfrutaron del arranque de Spanish Screenings Content antes de sumergirse en el intenso programa de la sección. Se espera a 700 compradores, vendedores y otros profesionales de la industria audiovisual. En total, MAFIZ recibirá a casi 2.000 acreditados de 61 países que hasta el viernes participarán en las diferentes actividades que conforman el evento.

The inauguration of Spanish Screenings Content, the main activity of MAFIZ, took place yesterday at Balneario del Carmen. The event, which kicked off an extensive programme of screenings, presentations, conferences, and opportunities to connect with other professionals, was led by the Mayor of Malaga, Francisco de la Torre. He was joined by Mariana Pineda, Councilwoman for Culture and Historical Heritage; Camilo Vázquez, Deputy Director General for Promotion and International Relations of the ICAA; Elisa Carbonell, CEO of ICEX España Exportaciones e Inversiones; and Juan Antonio Vigar, Director of the Festival.
After a brief introduction by Juan Antonio Vigar, the Mayor welcomed the delegations from the 61 countries attending the event and stressed “the importance of MAFIZ in the Festival for cinema in Spanish”. Vázquez went on to underline “the good moment for cinema and the professionalism and excellence of its industry”, defining MAFIZ as “the muscle of the Festival and a space for synergies”. Finally, Carbonell closed the event by highlighting “the quality of the national audiovisual sector”, their support for internationalisation and their task in promoting new talent.
Around 300 guests enjoyed the kick-off of Spanish Screenings Content before diving into the intense programme of the section. 700 purchasers, sellers, and other audiovisual industry professionals are expected to attend. In total, MAFIZ will welcome almost 1400 accredited guests from 59 countries who will be taking part in the different activities that make up the event until Friday.
