MAFF (Málaga Festival Fund & Co Production Event) buscará entre el 4 y el 8 de marzo contribuir al desarrollo de proyectos innovadores ofreciendo un espacio de encuentro que facilite el diálogo entre productores latinoamericanos y europeos en el marco de MAFIZ, el área de industria del Festival de Málaga.
Serán 21 los proyectos que se presentarán ante una audiencia de coproductores, posibles socios financieros y fondos de inversión internacionales con el fin de completar su financiación, propiciar el crecimiento artístico de sus autores y generar una red de contactos entre sus impulsores. Mentorías, conferencias y talleres completan el programa de MAFF.
Además, los representantes de los proyectos iniciaron a finales de enero de forma remota el programa ‘Learning & Training’, una serie de actividades de formación y asesoramiento que intenta proporcionarles las herramientas necesarias para crear contenidos audiovisuales de calidad, viables y atractivos de cara al mercado internacional. Estas sesiones tendrán su continuación durante los días del festival con actividades presenciales guiadas por destacados profesionales de la industria.
Entre los proyectos que gozarán del escaparate que ofrece MAFF se encuentran producciones de Argentina, Brasil, Chile, Colombia, Cuba, El Salvador, España, Panamá, Perú, República Dominicana, Uruguay y Venezuela, entre otros. De estos, cuatro han sido seleccionados por acuerdo con los festivales Bolivia Lab, Brasil Cinemundi, DAFO Perú y SANFIC. Habrá también dos trabajos paraguayos en la sección, procedentes de Latinamerican Focus, y otros cuatro canarios de la sección Territorios.
Más allá de asesorar, ofrecer formación y generar conexiones, este evento busca impulsar la reflexión sobre la contribución del audiovisual en el progreso de la sociedad hacia una sociedad más inclusiva y colaborativa. Es por ello que MAFF incluye dos proyectos en la sección MAFF Women Screen Industry, la cual nació hace dos años de la mano de la Asociación Andaluza de Mujeres de los Medios Audiovisuales (AAMMA), la Asociación de Mujeres Cineastas y de Medios Audiovisuales (CIMA) y Mujeres en V.O.
Todos los proyectos optan a diferentes premios que consistirán, entre otros aspectos, en participar en laboratorios de producción, recibir asesoramiento personalizado, garantizar la distribución u obtener postproducción de audio.

MAFF: the meeting point for artistic growth and international co-production
This year, once again, MAFF (Malaga Festival Fund & Co Production Event) aims to contribute to the development of innovative projects between the 4th and 8th of March. It will offer a meeting point to facilitate dialogue between Latin American and European producers within the framework of MAFIZ, the industry area of the Malaga Festival.
21 projects will be presented to an audience of co-producers, potential financial partners and international investment funds with the aim of completing their financing, fostering artistic growth of their authors and generating networking between their promoters. Mentoring, conferences and workshops complete the MAFF programme.
In addition, at the end of January, the projects representatives began the ‘Learning & Training’ programme remotely. A series of training and consulting activities to give them the tools they need to make good audiovisual content for the international market. These sessions will be continued during the Festival with face-to-face activities led by leading industry professionals.
Among the projects that will enjoy the showcase offered by MAFF are productions from Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Cuba, El Salvador, Spain, Panama, Peru, the Dominican Republic, Uruguay and Venezuela, among others. Of these, four have been selected by consensus between the festivals Bolivia Lab, Brasil Cinemundi, DAFO Peru and SANFIC. There will also be two Paraguayan films in the section, from Latinamerican Focus, and another four from the Canary Islands of the Territories section.
Beyond advising, offering training and generating networking, this event seeks to encourage reflection on the contribution of the audiovisual industry to the progress of society towards a more inclusive and collaborative society. This is why MAFF includes two projects in the MAFF Women Screen Industry section, which was created two years ago by the Andalusian Asociación Andaluza de Mujeres de los Medios Audiovisuales (AAMMA), the Asociación de Mujeres Cineastas y de Medios Audiovisuales (CIMA) and Mujeres en V.O.
All projects are eligible for different prizes that will consist, among other things, of participating in production labs, receiving personalised advice, guaranteeing distribution or obtaining audio post-production.
