Carmen Páez, subsecretaria del Ministerio de Cultura, y Juan Antonio Vigar, director del Festival de Málaga, inauguraron ayer Trends. Esta nueva sección de Spanish Screenings, pone el foco en la animación, las series y la música con el objetivo de visibilizar las intersecciones entre cultura, tecnología e innovación de estos tres sectores. Páez dio las gracias a Vigar por “lanzarte a la piscina con nosotros” y abordar un programa que es un “escaparate para que todos podamos encontrarnos y mostrar precisamente estos cruces que tiene el audiovisual”. Con esta iniciativa, el ministerio pone en valor no solo el motor de negocio que es el audiovisual, sino que además reconoce que es un sector que “permea a la sociedad y nos permite encontrarnos”, señaló. La presentación dio paso a la mesa redonda ‘Global Animation from Spain’, con las empresas punteras de la animación Rokyn Animation, Illusorium Studios, Pinkman TV e Imagic TV.

This new section of Spanish Screenings focuses on animation, series and music with the aim of making the intersections between culture, technology and innovation in these three sectors visible. Páez thanked Vigar for “taking the plunge with us” and participating in a programme that serves as “a showcase for us all to come together and demonstrate precisely these intersections within the audiovisual industry.” With this initiative, the Ministry not only recognises the audiovisual sector as a business driver but also acknowledges that it is a sector that “permeates society and allows us to connect,” she noted. The presentation was followed by the round table discussion ‘Global Animation from Spain,’ featuring leading animation companies Rokyn Animation, Illusorium Studios, Pinkman TV, and Imagic TV.
