MAFIZ vivió en la jornada de ayer su inauguración oficial, presidida por el alcalde de Málaga, Francisco de la Torre, en un concurrido acto, el pistoletazo de salida a unas jornadas con una completa programación de proyecciones, presentaciones y oportunidades de networking.
El acto comenzó con los parlamentos de los representantes de las instituciones que hacen posible MAFIZ. Así, Teresa Amaro reiteró el compromiso de ICEX España Exportación e Inversiones con Spanish Screenings Content por su papel de nexo entre “el contenido español y la industria internacional”. Acto seguido, Camilo Vázquez del ICAA, hizo énfasis en el “acento iberoamericano que tiene el Festival” y Carlos García, de la Junta de Andalucía, añadió que “el objetivo es generar oportunidades para el talento andaluz, para que nuestras historias lleguen más lejos y a un público más amplio”. Intervino también la consejera de Cultura de la Región de Murcia, Carmen Conesa, quien reiteró su agradecimiento al Festival por “permitirnos enseñar lo que somos a nivel de cine”.
Por último, el alcalde dio la bienvenida a los casi 1.000 acreditados de industria procedentes de 63 países y les deseó que “encontrasen oportunidades para plantear nuevos proyectos durante estos días en Málaga”.
Acto seguido, iniciaron su recorrido por los 46 stands del Industry Club en el flamante stand de Andalucía Cultura. El Industry Club es el área de networking a disposición de entidades, institutos de cine, compañías de ventas y otras empresas relativas al sector.
International industry from 63 countries welcome
MAFIZ was officially inaugurated yesterday, presided over by the Mayor of Malaga, Francisco de la Torre in a well-attended ceremony, the starting signal for a full programme of screenings, presentations and networking opportunities.
The event began with speeches from the representatives of the institutions that make MAFIZ possible.
Teresa Amaro reiterated ICEX España Exportación e Inversiones’ commitment to Spanish Screenings Content for its role as a link between “Spanish content and the international industry”. Camilo Vázquez, from the ICAA, emphasised the “Ibero-American accent that the Festival has” and Carlos García, from the Junta de Andalucía, added that “the objective is to generate opportunities for Andalusian talent, so that our stories reach further afield and to a wider audience”. The Minister of Culture for the Region of Murcia, Carmen Conesa, also spoke, reiterating her thanks to the Festival for “allowing us to show what we are at the level of cinema”.
Finally, the mayor welcomed the almost 1,000 industry accreditation holders from 63 countries and wished them “to find opportunities for new projects during these days in Malaga.”
They then began their tour of the 46 Industry Club stands at the brand new Andalucía-Cultura stand. The Industry Club is the networking area available to organisations, film institutes, sales companies and other industry-related companies.
